Some of you may have read our recent article “7 patios in PR to knock back a cold one” and thought, ‘Woah, there are 7 awesome restaurants with patios in PR? Who knew?’ Meanwhile, there were others that were thinking, ‘Hey, you missed a couple!’ We know, because you told us.

Well, we didn’t just miss a couple. We missed a LOT. That’s why we’re giving you 12 MORE PATIOS to choose from, for when you feel like wetting your whistle.

Without further adieu…

Edie Rae’s Cafe

6243 Walnut St.
In the historic Townsite, in the Old Courthouse Inn, is Edie Rae’s Cafe. Known for their retro vibe (but with updated, comfy furniture and bedding), the Old Courthouse is a favourite for travellers looking for authentic experiences. Edie Rae’s Cafe has a spacious deck, and a cocktail menu that’s sure to please. Try the “Connie Sour,” a gin and tonic with a dollop of homemade lime sorbet and pureed basil. They’re especially tasty on hot days.

Little Hut Curry's little slice of heaven

Little Hut Curry

4623 Marine Avenue
Little Hut Curry is a quaint little restaurant tucked away on Marine Avenue. They specialize in North Indian/Kashmiri cuisine. They promise to “add some spice to your life.” If you search for them online, you’ll find rave reviews on Yelp, Urbanspoon, and TripAdvisor. Start your meal with a curry shooter (It’s a food shooter, not a drink shooter), and ask the owners Mohinder and Janmeet to recommend some dishes for you to try. And you can’t go wrong pairing your meal with wine.

Granada

6249 Marine Avenue
Granada has been open since 1973. There is a HUGE pizza menu, as well as Greek platters, seafood, salads and more. The drink menu has a little of everything–beer, wine, mixed drinks, specialty coffees–so choose whatever you fancy!

Alchemist's beautiful patio

Alchemist

4680 Marine Avenue
They turn meat and vegetables into gold! Well, they sure turn them into something delicious. The co-owners of Alchemist are also the chefs, and they both spent some time working at Burrowing Owl Winery in Oliver, BC, so there are several Burrowing Owl wines on the menu. There’s a reason why they’re on there–they’re damn good. (That’s what you should order!)

Snickers Pizza’s trellis-covered patio

Snickers Pizza

4591 Marine Avenue
Snickers is in an old favourite in Powell River. They have delicious pizza, as well as pasta, burgers, and Greek food. What goes better with pizza and pasta than red wine?

gardencourt-towncentre

Garden Court’s hidden patio

Garden Court Restaurant (at the Town Centre Hotel)

4660 Joyce Avenue
This private patio is open daily for breakfast and lunch. You can enjoy one of classics, like a burger, fish n’ chips, or chicken wings–and pair it with a caesar or a cold draft beer. Or hit it up on Sunday for a stack of pancakes.

Tree Frog Bistro

4603 Marine Avenue
They claim you will have a refreshing culinary experience. And with their west coast cuisine that includes fresh crab cakes, prawn bisque, and steelhead salmon–you will maximize the flavours with a glass of white wine. They have a small patio facing the street, and another larger patio out back, facing the ocean. Depending on what time of day it is, or whether you feel like people-watching or ocean-gazing, there is a perfect spot for you.

Skeeter Jack's quiet patio

Skeeter Jack’s little oasis

Skeeter Jack’s Outback Shack

9398 Hwy 101
If you’d like to escape from the “hustle and bustle” of the centre of town, head south to Skeeter Jack’s. It’s a laid back atmosphere, with some of the best fish ‘n chips in town. We all know fish n’ chips is best paired with a nice cold beer, so order that.

Thaidal Zone's tie-one-on zone

Thaidal Zone’s tie-one-on zone

Thaidal Zone

4454 Willingdon Avenue
It’s the cutest little Thai restaurant right down by the Westview ferry terminal. The patio gets a lot of sun. This place is so authentic, they fly ingredients in fresh from Bangkok! Try the pad thai, one of their delicious curries, and pair it with beer or wine, and maybe some tea.

Royal Zayka's outdoor seating

Royal Zalka

6275 Marine Avenue
This little Indian place is rather new–in its place used to be HUB 101, but it has recently changed hands. It’s located across the street from the Patricia Theatre and their patio looks down at the Old Courthouse Inn, and the ocean view behind it. Indian food tends to be spicy, so a glass of white wine, or a beer, will go down nicely.

Boardwalk Restaurant basking in the sun

Boardwalk Restaurant

Longacre Road, Lund
This place is a little unique, as almost everything on the menu is gluten free, including their fish and chips! All menu items are created with fresh local produce, meat, and seafood. I’m a sucker for fish tacos, and there aren’t many places in Powell River that serve them, so there’s no question what I would order. And of course, a cold beer to go with it.

Orca Bistro - perfect for events!

Orca Bistro – perfect for events!

Orca Bistro (at Myrtle Point Golf Club)

2865 McCausland Road
This casual bistro and lounge is located in the clubhouse at Myrtle Point Golf Club. The bistro looks out on the Malaspina Straight, while the lounge area views the golf course. Like my boyfriend says, “there’s nothing better than a burger and a beer after golf.” But the great thing is, you don’t have to enjoy golf to go eat here–you can visit any time!

Well – I think that’s all of them. If there are more out there, please let us know! We’d love to feature them. And have a drink at them.
