September Events Round-up for Powell Riverites
September is upon us, with kids going back to school and Fall events abound! Just because August is over, it doesn’t mean we all go crawl back inside our dwellings, not to return until May. There’s loads of fun still to be had in September! Check out these upcoming events and get out and do something fun with your friends and family.
20 paddlers, a steersman and drummer, all on the same beat
Sunshine Coast Final Fling Dragon Boat Festival
Where: Mowat Bay
When: September 17th, 9:30am
What: Catch some dragon boat races between teams from Powell River and up the Sunshine Coast. It’s their last regatta of the year, and should make for some interesting spectating.
Fall Fair 2016
Where: 4365 McLeod Rd. (Fairgrounds)
When: September 17-18, 12:00pm – 5:00pm
What: Bring your prize flowers, vegetables, crafts and more for judging in the fair competitions; or just go for the rides miniature train rides, the animal barn, and vendors with food and crafts.
Just for the Health of It – Health and Wellness Fair
Where: Powell River Recreation Complex
When: September 24, 10am- 4pm
What: Just for the Health of It is a new Health and Wellness Fair being held in Powell River It will be a fun, interactive and engaging one-day festival that celebrates healthy living and showcases businesses, organizations and resources that are available locally to help people live more healthfully.

7th Annual Salmon Festival
Where: Powell River French Club (Club Bon Accueil)
When: September 24, 1pm-4pm Festival, 6pm-11pm Banquet Dinner
What: Bring the family for the free activities and salmon barbecue from 1-4pm, or buy tickets for the banquet dinner served by the Laughing Oyster.
