Powell Lake. It’s a place that Powell Riverites dream of during the winter. And Powtown ex-pats dream of ALL THE TIME.

It is a glorious place. And it seems as if the rest of the world has yet to discover it.

We asked our fantastic readers to submit photos of their cabins, and now, we want to share them with you. Just try not to be jealous of these people’s lives.

27 cabins on Powell Lake that will make you want to quit your day job

By Powtown Post

These cabins were built by hand in the remote town of Powell River. But we can't tell you exactly where they are. If you know, you know. If you don't, please enjoy the photos.

  • Entrance to Hole in the Wall

    By Powtown Post

This paradise at "Hole in the Wall" comes complete with a floating garden.

  • This could be you.

Just quit your job and move to Powell River. Now.

  • The perfect getaway

    By Powtown Post

There are some happy kids who hang out here in the summer.

  • Three Mile Bay

    By Powtown Post

Look at the three mile deck – so much room for activities!

  • Cocktail Cove

    By Powtown Post

    Yes, it's a real place.

  • Elvis Point

    By Powtown Post

Why Elvis Point? Because there's an Elvis statue on the point. Duh.

    By Powtown Post

    At the Washout

  • Henderson Bay

    By Powtown Post

Yes, this entire huge property is floating, and anchored to the bottom of the lake.

  • Need some privacy?

    By Powtown Post

    Yeah, we got that, too.

  • It's a magical place…

    By Powtown Post

    Especially during the magic hour.

  • Priorities.

    By Powtown Post

    They gots 'em.

  • Rainbow Lodge

    By Powtown Post

    We're just kidding! It's not a lodge. You can't stay here. 😉

  • Just before the Washout

    By Powtown Post

I like my cabins like I like my margaritas. On the rocks.

  • Rock-a-Bye Island

    By Powtown Post

This family know how to do it. Just buy your own island and build your very own paradise.

  • Socred Bay

    By Powtown Post

More like sacred bay, am I right?

  • Club Zed

    By Powtown Post

This family are Powell Lake veterans.

  • Even in winter

    By Powtown Post

A bad day on the lake is still better than a good day at work.

  • Eerie shot

    By Powtown Post

But we know it's not a scary place. Nowhere near.

  • Patchwork

    By Powtown Post

Check out that patchwork design! Can you tell the owner is a quilter?

  • Bear Island

    By Powtown Post

Just like a regular cabin–except it floats.

  • Kokanee Cedar on Goat Island

    By Powtown Post

Proudly made with local cedar and plenty of Kokanee.

  • Throwback

    By Powtown Post

..to 1981? Adding on a new section to the cabin, as you do.

  • Plain and simple.

    By Powtown Post

    It's all you need, really.

  • The Blues

    By Powtown Post

    But only the right kind.

  • A little piece of Canadiana.

    By Powtown Post

It really doesn't get much more stereotypical than this. But we don't care.

  • Look up, look waaay up

    Henderson Bay

  • Towing her to her final resting place

    By Powtown Post

How did you think they got there?

Many thanks goes to all of the photographers for submitting these amazing photos of your cabins. Your names are all listed in the bottom right of the slideshow. And a very special thanks goes to Leah Laurie, who drove around Powell Lake and took the majority of these photos. (Tough job!)
