Our favourite Powell River Instagrammers
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I’m the one who has been running the Powtown Post Instagram account. And every day I search Instagram for photos tagged with the hashtag #powellriver, #powellriverlife, or that are geo-tagged with Powell River as their location. Pretty sneaky, huh? Well, I’ve come across some pretty amazing shots of our quaint little town.
We like to use our Instagram profile to showcase our town in the most beautiful light possible. We often re-share people’s photos–while giving them full credit, of course–if we think their photo deserves to be seen. During this process, we have discovered a few accounts from Powell River that we think deserve a shout out, so we compiled a list of a few of our favourites. Feel free to give them a follow!

Leah is a family portrait photographer in Powell River. She offers photography for all aspects of your life: engagement, wedding, baby bump, newborn, toddler, families, and pets–and sometimes even does nature and wildlife photography.
Jennifer Kennedy @kennedyphotografik
Jennifer is a wedding and portrait photographer in Powell River. And while she hasn’t posted much on Instagram–as of writing this, she only had 14 images up–all of her photos are stunning. The lighting! Some of the locations you might recognize, too, like the couple’s photoshoot below, atop Valentine Mountain.

Cem is a photographer and videographer, born and raised in Istanbul. From my investigative work (you know, taking a look at his website), I can see that he has travelled Europe extensively, while studying and working, and now resides in Powell River and is a student at Camber College.

While we don’t know much about these guys, we do know there are two of them: Jess & Sunny. They love adventures, chasing sunsets on the Sunshine Coast, and they’ve got the Insta to prove it.

Jordan obviously loves taking shots of the west coast, and he has a knack for it. His photo below of Tin Hat Mountain was even featured on Global BC’s “Small Town BC” segment.

Zev @zevbrewer
We can’t tell much about Zev from his profile, other than that he is all about the Sunshine Coast. I will tell you this–his Instagram feed is on point! There are just consistently beautiful shots one after another. He seems to have a thing for trees and stars. We are definitely okay with that.

This is a bonus entry because it is quite obvious that Sonja is from Texada Island. Her feed is a mix of inspirational quotes and gorgeous beach and sunset shots from Texada. Definitely worthy of a follow, in my opinion.
