Say Goodbye to This Hulk
The iconic Hulks breakwater outside the Powell River mill has gone through many changes over the years. Now it’s about to get smaller.
And Powell River divers are clicking their heels (fins?) in excitement. This ship, the YOGN 82, is the first of four Hulk ships that Catalyst Paper and the Artificial Reef Society of BC are going to sink as an attraction for divers and a refuge for marine life. Plans are to sink the ship this fall, with the three others to follow, off the midway point of the Willingdon Beach Trail.
