Planning a wedding in the near future? It seems to be that time of year when everyone is in planning mode!
While there aren’t a ton of large wedding venues in Powell River, the ones that we have are quite beautiful and unique.
If you’re new to town, or just haven’t the slightest idea of where to begin in choosing a wedding venue, we’ve gone ahead and done the work for you. Weddings comes in all different shapes and sizes, and we’ve thought of that, of course. Check out our list below of the top wedding venues in Powell River.
Large Weddings (100+ guests)
There are only a few venues in town that can accommodate a large crowd, but they are definitely interesting! Have a peek.
Carlson Community Club (150 guests)

This two-story building includes a members’ lounge offering food and beverage service which is also outfitted with projector screens, a stage, and dance floor. A small outdoor covered patio and BBQ area is provided as well.
Upstairs, above the members’ lounge, is a full service community hall which has been recently renovated, complete with a bar and commercial kitchen. You must hire your own catering for this venue.

Dwight Hall (up to 400 guests)

The main ballroom is lavish and spacious (at 5,000 square feet–lots of room for dancing!), with heritage details and high vaulted glass windows. It comes complete with a stage (and dressing rooms), as well as and adjoining supper room and full kitchen. All catering and rentals must be brought in by an external company. It is probably one of the most popular wedding venues in town–for good reason!
Italian Hall (250 guests)

This perfect little hall run by the Italian Community in Powell River has been host to many different types of events over the years. They will cater small events, but larger events have to be done by an outside caterer. There is a kitchen on-site and separate bar area for use.

Town Centre Hotel (200 guests)

This location has both an indoor ballroom, or outdoor courtyard. If you want a budget-friendly one-stop-shop with catering and bar service, this is the place for you. As an added bonus, the bride and groom get the bridal suite free on their wedding night.

The Lund Hotel has a meeting room that fits 50 guests comfortably, or you could speak to them about booking out the entire restaurant or pub for your wedding. While a little more remote, you can’t beat the views from Lund, and your guests could stay at the (recently renovated) hotel!

With a beautiful view of Okeover Inlet, and high-quality, tasty cuisine, you can’t go wrong booking the Laughing Oyster for your wedding. They can also provide catering to other venues in town that don’t offer their own, like the Dwight Hall or Italian Hall, for instance.

Myrtle Point Golf Club (100 guests)

Myrtle Point Golf Club has their own catering and staff to provide service for weddings. The banquet room has beautiful high ceilings, and the Enchanted Garden was designed specifically for outdoor wedding ceremonies, with an elegant altar and a stunning ocean view for your wedding photos.

The Rodmay Heritage Hotel can host up to 75 guests in a banquet-style setup in the Rainbow Room. The space features high ceilings, a fireplace, a large oak dance floor, a wooden bar, and an upright piano. Catering is available for large or small events.
