On Friday and Saturday, December 11 and 12, between 5 and 8 pm, families are invited to ride the Paradise Valley Railroad train with Santa!

Santa Train

As an extension to their summer afternoon “Train Rides Sunday” program, the Forestry Heritage Society volunteers decided to follow the lead of many other miniature ride-on train clubs with a Christmas-theme event held in the evening. In the dark, having Christmas lights guiding the route will provide a very different experience compared to the regular afternoon summer program. Some floodlights will be up to aid parking, and a few food concessions will be on hand for snacks. There will also be some live music and a bonfire along the train route.

This event is a charity-benefit for the Salvation Army, so the all-evening ride fee is non-perishable food items or unwrapped toys.

There are giveaways donated by local merchants and the Quonset hut will be open for some activities. The volunteers involved are hoping to see families come out to join the fun, bring a generous donation for charity and say hello to Santa on the train.

In case it gets busy and you have to walk outside the lit areas, you might want to bring a flashlight.
