5 reasons to love Stillwater Bluffs even if you aren’t a rock climber
The Stillwater Bluffs are well-known and loved by local rock-climbers. But there are lots of other reasons that this place is special. Local photographer and bluff-crawler Jason Addy shared a few of his favourites with us.
1. The adventure
Of course, the rock climbing is stellar too.
Some people like more adventure than others.
2. The companions you share the place with
It’s better with two.
The golden hour at the bluffs.
3. The scenery
Another fantastic spot from which to view a sunset.
4. The flora
Few-flowered Shooting Star
Large timber like this means the bluffs are in the sights of logging company Island Timberlands.
5. And the fauna
Flower Crab Spider – do you see it?

Leopard Nudibranch – just one of hundreds of inter-tidal special in the tide pools and cracks around the bluffs.
