Watch out for Whales!
If you spend time on or near the ocean, get yourself to the Cranberry Seniors Centre on Tuesday, April 4.
Jackie Hildering, better known as “The Marine Detective,” will lead an entertaining discussion on comeback of Humpback Whales and the research of the Marine Education and Research Society (MERS).
The event is hosted by the Malaspina Naturalists and the Seniors Centre at 6793 Cranberry Street. Admission is free, donations are welcome.

She also runs a fun Find The Fish Friday challenge every week on Facebook, where there’s an underwater photo, and you have to find the fish hiding in it. You’d think that would start to get old, but Jackie manages to snap lots of interesting, hard-to-find fish–a testament to her time spent underwater and her intimate knowledge of the ocean.
