Holiday Events around town in December
The Christmas season is upon us! And if you think there is a lack of things to do–you’re wrong! This town is buzzing full of holiday excitement. We wanted to make it easy for you, so we compiled a list of events happening around town dedicated to the holidays. We may not have all of them, but we have enough to keep you busy.

Powell River Chorus Christmas Concert
Location: Evergreen Theatre
Time: 7:30 pm
Advance tickets available for $12 at Rockit Music and from chorus members, or $15 at the door. Children 12 and under are free.
Friday, December 4
Edgehill Elementary Christmas Carnival
Location: Edgehill Elementary School, 7312 Abbotsford Street
Time: 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Features include a festival of trees with silent auction, concession, raffle, games, a visit from Santa and a holiday Christmas photo booth.
Kelly Creek Community Church presents a free movie night
(featuring The Nativity Story – rated PG)
Location: 2380 Zilinsky Road
Time: 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
Free popcorn, snacks and beverages are included. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Texada – Festival of Trees and Craft Fair
Location: TACT Centre, 1989 Marble Bay Rd, Van Anda
Evening tree lighting ceremony, carol sing, hot chocolate
Hands Across The Water Rummage and Bake Sale Fundraiser
Location: Assumption gymnasium, 7091 Glacier Street
Time: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Features include household and children’s items, baking, hot dogs, coffee, and an information booth. Anyone interested in donating can email handsacrossthewaterpr@gmail.com for information.
Evergreen Care Residence and Powell River Stroke Recovery Club – Annual Christmas Craft Sale
Location: 4970 Joyce Avenue
Time: 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm .
Features include crafts, baking, stained glass, local artisans, collectables, and draws.
Powell River Action Centre Food Bank Presents The Dickens Banquet
Location: Dwight Hall
Fine Wines, Laughing Oyster Buffet Dinner, Chocolate Desserts, Live Dinner Show, Christmas Trivia, Rock & Roll Dance Band, Late Night Buffet, Safe Ride Program.

Texada – Festival of Trees and Craft Fair
Location: TACT Centre, 1989 Marble Bay Rd, Van Anda
Santa Parade, sponsored by the Marine Area Business Association
Location: Marine Avenue–between Westview Ave. and Alberni St.
Time: 3:00 pm
Those attending are encouraged to bring non-perishable items for the food bank and drop them into shopping carts placed along Marine Avenue.

6th Annual Jingle Jog
Location: Willingdon Beach
Time: 9:30 am – 11:00 am
$10 per person, $20 per family. 5km run or walk along Willingdon Beach Trail. All proceeds go to the Food Bank. And remember to wear your holiday gear!
